MGE/Eaton Evolution 1150 tower

Flashing battery lights. We replace the batteries with new. The UPS has an LCM system (life cycle monitoring) that does not detect the new cells and thinks they are due replacement, it flashes the battery LED's and illuminates an amber light to signal this.
MGE documentation recommends flashing the firmware to reset this problem. Eaton have bought MGE and have made the firmware binaries and flashing utilities unavailable. This results in the battery LED bar graph flashing, and an amber light being lit. The UPS works as normal. We are stuck between scrapping UPS because of this or selling with the known issue, and have chosen the latter. Not all units suffer and some units heal themselves on their periodic self test (not a manual test).
