SUA5000 48V Inverter

You can wire to AC optionally (the devices can start without mains present), running from mains when present, and DC when mains is not present. You can run all the time from DC if you like. If connected to AC, the unit will also charge your DC system.

You should also be proficient in working with / around electrical devices.

We sold a few for use in off grid / local energy projects. People had some issues getting the DC loom re-wired to a useful plug, so we are now offering the unit with the work done our side to make things easy.

This leaves you with simply wiring up a 48V DC system of any size and connecting it to the UPS (we include one of the 120A anderson plugs with some wire left on for you to connect to).

Because it is using a 120A rated Anderson connector we have installed a 100A fuse (see the photographs), which limits the power draw from the DC system to 100A. We include a 140A fuse as people might find this useful in their DC wiring to add short circuit protection, or upgrade the fuse inside the unit if they are happy with the wiring.

The UPS can be used in a rack, or stood on its side as a tower.
We cable tie the front control / LED panel to the UPS. This can be rotated 90 degrees - let us know how you intend to use it and we'll configure that way

We dont include an input AC cable normally. If you know what you need drop us a line and we'll check our cut off stock. If we have something you can use we'll include that free of charge.

An example of use of this is you can connect it to a 48V fork truck battery, which is extremely high capacity - many weighing over 600KG. You can then draw power from that battery to use either in your house / office. It can be just for emergency situations or on a daily basis.

When using like this it is always good to leave an overhead margin to give long life. We'd be happy running a 3KW load and leaving the rest for covering inrush and unusual blips (example on a motor startup).

We will modify, clean, test and then remove the test cell setup before shipping. When you get the unit you will need to connect the DC system, and AC power if you want that.

The unit WILL START WITHOUT MAINS POWER PRESENT (cold start). To do this press the button once. Release. It will probably beep. Then press again and hold down, when you hear the second longer beep, release and the UPS will start up.

Our products are comprehensively tested by UPS experts and are fully working. They are second user, and will have cosmetic signs of previous use.

The grading is A-Grade which we class as as good as you can get without having new. We touch up or re-spray cases as needed. We have been supplying UPS since 2002 and are the respected leader in the field, with the most used stock in Europe. Our experience reduces the occurrence of problems, and the availability of resources and stock we hold means we have the ability to quickly resolve issues when they do arise.

We set our same day dispatch times on eBay as a guide. This is a broad stroke estimation, as our items are of varying complexity. While simple orders can be packed and shipped quickly, large units or volume quantities may roll over to being dispatched the following working day. You can contact us if you need to be sure of when we can send an order and we can make a plan that suits you.

All of our consignments are sent fully insured on a 24 hour service with our carriers. We cover all problems that occur in transit. We can ship to the EU (transit time varies) and have experience packing and shipping to overseas destinations. The EU shipping costs are estimated and can be subject to surcharge. Large UPS may be palletised or shipped with the UPS in one box, and the cells in another. We have the packing materials to make sure that there are few problems in transit. Our warehouse is based in the UK.

When we process the order, we issue a dispatch notification via email. This will have a PDF invoice attached, and detail which courier we have shipped with, along with the tracking number and any pertinent information & guidance.

We've attached some photos from one of our customer's installations that used a smaller SUA2200xli. He uses the UPS to charge the large cell bank overnight. When there has not been much solar generation during the day, he plugs his car (which has a vehicle to load capability) into the UPS, which then slowly lifts the voltage of the cells overnight.
