We have run out of the original SUM type control panel plastics. There is another type that we can use, but some of the LED's have changed place. I have made a video showing how this looks. The plastic trim which covers the rest of the front is not included, the picture is a good good guide

The APC SUM series (both 3000 and 1500VA) use a control panel that looks the same as many other UPS.

Unfortunately it is slightly different, there is an LED top left that indicates boost/trim of the input voltage, and this moves where the "running from mains" and "running from battery" LED's are We often dont have an original SUM front, and are offering with a different front, but a consequence is that the LED for on battery is lit when the UPS is running from mains, and the RED fault light will illuminate when running from battery. The UPS will function as normal, and we tape over the icons to give them their right description, but it is certainly our customers must be aware of before ordering. We test as normal and this is a signalling issue only - the UPS will perform identically to a unit with the original front plastic.


They are a high end, modular UPS and its much better to sell cheaply with this issue than scrap them and remove from the worlds capability. It uses a 48V DC battery pack, which can be extended either with SUM48rmxlbp2u EBM units, or with a DIY solution to increase runtime. The UPS are a heavy duty design with long runtimes in mind. The unit is also modular so the battery packs and power modules can be changed without taking the UPS chassis out of the rack.


It can be used in a rack, or on its side as a tower.
