We import and distribute lead acid batteries. One of the questions we get asked with some regularity is whether we can supply chargers for our cells. We have had problems with quality of chargers in the past but are now happy to be able to supply decent units at a decent price.
These charger are new, and come with crocodile clips to connect to your battery. They simply plug into standard wall sockets
The LED indicates the charger is powered and charging. It shows red for the first stage rapid charging, and then turns green when the cell is being float charged. At this point the cell can be used, disconnected and stored, or left float charging indefinitely - as you choose.
They are a current limited charger that also has a float charge function. So you can connect your battery charger to your cell, and leave it connected indefinitely - no worry of overcharging. First the charger will provide energy at high current (within the cell range's limit for current and voltage). When the charger sees that the cell is mostly charged it switches to a float charge / trim setting where it trickles energy to the battery. This ensures that the cell remains charged, and can help restore capacity lost through deep discharges / heavy duty cycling.
We are selling a few different types of charger, each designed with a cell range in mind. Using a smaller charger on a big battery is OK - it will just take a long time to charge. It is important not to use a bigger charger on a battery smaller than it was designed for as it can exceed the cell maximum charge current.
