APC have released a few firmware revisions on the UPS. No major functionality has changed but it has added support for example connecting to certain NAS and backlight dimming of the LCD panel.

Its fairly simple to do yourself but there is a risk of bricking the card if you get it wrong - and if we do it we are covering that risk. We were getting a lot of requests to do this and have just made this advert to streamline the ordering process.

You need the right types of cable to do this, and serial ports which are not common now.
