    Hi,

Wondering if anybody has a photo of the large ceramic wire wound resistor on a SURT6000xli.

It is R878 near the large yellow capacitor and near where the White and Back cables connect.

Unfortunately mine has got very hot and burnt out so trying to see what the band colours are on it so that I can order a replacement part.

Thanks for any photos or help

    Howdy

    I did some hunting
The SURT 6 that I got out was soldered on in a way I cant read any rating
I then found a 3K that had actual resistor bands

I suggest desoldering what you have and seeing if it matches the r2_1792746480_IMG_1339.JPG2_1792746487_IMG_1338.JPG

Side note that screwdriver in the photo my mum bought me as part of a woodwork tool kit when I was 11. I'm keeping a small box of tools as heirlooms. Judging by what has passed down to me over years I think many chaps have a similar idea that they will live on in the use of their tools!

Howdy. If possible please come back here and confirm it worked when you have replaced the resistor.
It seems APC designed it  on the lower end of the acceptable wattage range.
