I had a power outage last night and i hadn't realised that the power was not restored to the UPS (Intial surge blew 5A supply fuse) This morning I found the UPS and the equipment it powers switched off so I replaced the fuse for 10A (okay for IEC C13). After restoring power to the UPS there are no lights, power button does nothing, and no power to the output devices. The batteries are showing 26V - should this be 48V? Power button and the trip reset on the rear do nothing
first guess - the UPS sacrificed itself saving the rest of your gear. 26V is fine - its a parallel + series string investigate further inside if you are competent to do so
Gut feeling, either an internal fuse or the UPS is beyond economic repair.
I have ordered another one from UPS Trader. Thanks for lettign me knwo about the battery configuration.
I used to be an electronics technician so quite competent to open it up and take a look. Unfortunately, without a circuit diagram, if it's not down to an internal fuse the electronics will appear alien to me.
its a problem. APC have a policy of none disclosure of schematics. I would much prefer a right for the customer to repair model, and dont think it would cost them much as few people would do this, but it would allow EE's to do their thing and make a fix rather than discard.
